Janis Lewin, photographing in Cuba since 1990, offers you access and insight based on years of experience and connections on the island. Walk the streets of historic Santiago and meet with musicians in this region known for its strong cultural heritage. Spend time with local families in the small colonial beach town of Baracoa. Meet descendants of the Taíno, among the first inhabitants of the island. Photograph the fishing village on Cayo Granma off the eastern coast, and round your trip off with time to photograph Havana and meet Cuban photographers and artists. Expect surprises and special access. Whether your work is fine art, documentary, or an exploration of place and personal expression, you will have the time and opportunity to explore the island in a deeper way. The group will help edit in photo sessions. Any level of photographer or visual artist can take advantage of this trip, though the size of the group is limited.
